Hobbs left unimpressed by lack of fight shown in Parkway's performance

PLYMOUTH Parkway manager Lee Hobbs was not happy with what he saw from his players as their latest pre-season fixture ended in a 2-1 defeat at Western league side Buckland Athletic.

In front of a healthy crowd of 211 - and off the back of a brilliant 5-3 win at Mousehole last Saturday Parkway failed to hit such heights with a performance that Hobbs said lacked fight at Homers Heath.

The opening goal of the game came on 13 minutes when Parkway's Michael Landricombe was adjudged to have fouled Ryan Bush in the penalty box and Owen Stockton blasted home the resultant spot kick.

Parkway levelled 11 minutes later, though, as Tyler Ashmead crossed for Theo Simpson to plat a fine header past former Parkway goalkeeper Tyler Coombes.

There were chances at both ends for either side to go back in front and it was Buckland that did early in the second half when Buckland were awarded a free kick and Ben Carter smashed it in off the post.
