George & Nortier beat Wilson and Rojas in a thriller

WHEN Roanna George and Lawrence Nortier met Debbie Wilson and Jose Rojas, any spectators witnessed a match of exceptional rallies in a very close match with all four players involved in a lot of the points.

George & Nortier beat Wilson and Rojas in a thriller

There was nothing really to separate the two pairs but Roanna and Lawrence just managed to come out on top 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Roanna and Lawrence then played Pam Ellis and Ming Dai and were 6-4, 6-2, 6-5 winners.

Debbie Wilson with sub James Spurgeon played were comfortable 6-0, 6-0, 6-2 winners over Janet Butler and Dudley Tolkien, while Alice Wildgoose and Gary Brookes enjoyed a similar outcome in their match with Alex and Alex winning 6-2, 6-0, 6-0

A really close game with lots of long points involving all four players saw Debbie Wilson and sub James Spugeon take the first two sets from Gary Brookes with sub Helen Wright.

But Gary and Helen finished strongly winning the final set, but lost overall 6-3, 6-5, 3-6 Alison Miles and sub Janet Butler got off to a strong start with Alison serving well and Janet very effective at the net, which saw them take the first set of their match against Linda Trebilcock and Hilary Picton Linda and Hilary managed to take the second set 6-4 and then took the deciding set 6-2 to win 5-6, 6-4, 6-2 overall.

Nicky Slight and Jessica Randell edged out Anna Tickle and Alison Goodwin in what turned out to be a very good tennis match for all concerned.
