PLYMOUTH appears to have lost the spectacular SailGP event this year with organisers of the sailing grand prix understood to have given the UK a miss.
Council leader Richard Bingley has told The Herald he is disappointed to learn that the event, a huge money spinner for Plymouth, will not be docking in Britain during 2023.
He said the city is determined to make a strong bid for the return of the event when it next has the UK on its radar.
He said: “SailGP is not coming to the UK this year and won’t be in Plymouth.
