Bluebird C indebted to Austin and Halford

GLENN Austin top scored with 14 ton-plusses, including a 108 checkout, during Bluebird C’s 7-4 Monday Premier League win over Octagon B, which also saw Glenn Halford adding ten tons for his team.

Leaders Tradesmans A dominated the top-of-the-table clash with local rivals Octagon A in a match that saw John Mann reach 14 three-figure scores.

That total was ticked over by a game-high finish of 108 during a 3-1 singles win that included a brace of 18 darters; two legs that contributed to a number of high-class legs overall.

After Lewis Dare and Lee Hellings won Octagon’s solitary point of the team phase of play with 601 legs in 17 and 21, their team-mate Simon Washington won 3-0 with the help of a 15-darter.

Dare was the other Octagon winner as part of his 12-ton haul helped him to a 3-0 triumph that contained a pair of legs in 16.

Tradesmans’ Billy Evans added one of five maximums between the two sides during a 3-0 singles win that also saw the Devon man check a 15-dart leg. The game’s other 180s came from Hellings and Washington, whilst Bates managed two efforts; one of which coming in a defeat to Washington.

Jack McMinn top scored with 13 tons but couldn’t prevent a 7-4 defeat being inflicted upon Bluebird A in their away trip to Victory A.

McMinn added an 18-darter in his 3-1 success over Tony Tasker, whilst the only maximum scored during the contest came from the hand of Shaune Kittle.

Tasker was one of a number of prominent players for the victorious team with 12 tons, whilst a 17-darter came in his singles loss to McMinn.
