Teen suffered seizures after inhaling vape laced with drugs

A MUM has sounded a stark warning after her daughter collapsed after using a vape reportedly laced with the fentanyl and the 'zombie drug' spice.
Katy Benson had been at a party when it is believed she inhaled the vape before collapsing on the ground a short time after.
She was taken back home to Thorntree in Middlesbrough where her mum found her “slavering” and unable to speak or walk.
The 15-year-old pupil was taken to hospital and rushed into intensive care. Her mum, Hayley Benson, told The Gazette that tests showed Katy had inhaled a vape with the drugs spice and fentanyl.
Thankfully, the teenager was able to return home after treatment but her mum said it has had a mental impact on the youngster.
Hayley, 36, explained how the frightening events unfolded on Saturday night. “She was at a 16th birthday party at the Navigation pub in Middlesbrough,” she said.
“I received a Facetime phone call from her friend who wasn’t even at the party. She had got a phone call from the people who were there to say that Katy was on the floor, being sick.
“The friend got a taxi from Redcar and said, 'why haven't you called her mam?' She told me Katy had already been on the field for about an hour and a half. I got her uncle to go and get her.”
When Katy was brought home, her relatives tried to bring her round, initially assuming she had been drinking. “At first I thought she’s had too much to drink, like a teenager would do,” said her mum.
“But when she came in the house she was unresponsive, not speaking at all, slavering and crying.
