Chargesheet by June 15; FIRS against grapplers will be dropped; WFI polls on June 30 and BJP MP will be kept out of process; wrestlers to suspend protest
Wrestlers break WFI chief's hold

In a major climbdown, Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday presented a written undertaking to protesting wrestlers after a five-hour meeting.

The government has reassured them that a chargesheet will be filed against outgoing WFI chief Brijbhushan Sharan Singh by June 15. However, the assurance fell short of saying that he will be arrested, a key demand of the grapplers, who have accused him of sexual harassment. The arrest of the MP, who has considerable political heft in Uttar Pradesh, has been a contentious issue.

The government has also assured them that the police will withdraw the FIRs filed against them for violation of law and order on May 28, when they marched towards the new Parliament building without permission.
