Operation Lotus has failed in Punjab: Mann

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab won the vote of confidence with a thumping majority on Monday, the concluding day of the assembly session, amid protests from opposition parties.

While the Congress and the BJP abstained from the vote, one each of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the BSP, present in the House, did not oppose the motion against the AAP. Prior to the discussion on the vote, the members of the principal opposition party, the Congress, staged a walkout to protest against Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan's refusal to their demand for holding Zero Hour.
