Slams AAP convener after court rap on not stepping down from CM's post

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday attacked Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for not resigning from his post despite the Delhi High Court flagging the issue in relation to his being unable to perform his duties following his arrest in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Speaking at the party headquarters, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala equated Kejriwal with Colombian drug lord late Pablo Escobar, saying Kejrival too was the "kingpin" of the Delhi liquor scam. Poonawala charged that a "Pablo Escobar" was "running the government from jail". Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, has been in jail since April 1.

Drawing parallels between Kejriwal and Escobar, Poonawala said, "You all must have heard about Pablo Escobar. It is the misfortune of Delhi that a Pablo Escobar is running the government from jail with absolute shamelessness".
