Sonia Congress President Gandhi on Thursday joined her party's Bharat Jodo Yatra near Bellur Cross and walked with her son Rahul between Jakkanahalli and Kradya in Mandya district of Karnataka. The march later resumed from Pandavapura taluk.

Sonia was joined by MLAs Anjali Nimbalkar, Roopakala, and Lakshmi Hebbalkar.

AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted that her programme was for 30 minutes only, but she stayed for two hours, energised by the support of people, "strengthening our resolve".

Rahul and his sister, AICC general secretary Priyanka Vadra, posted videos and photos of Sonia walking with the people.
