Ajax's ex-Kop in eye of storm

AJAX and Chelsea have a rich head-tohead tradition - but the Dutch giants will arrive at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night in poor shape.

Back in 2019, these two teams shared a 4-4 at the Bridge - then over the next few years, Ajax sold £600million worth of players, and are now in the biggest crisis of their history.

Ajax are in serious financial trouble, almost the entire board have resigned, CEO hero Edwin van der Sar has stepped down due to ill health, and they have had EIGHT managers since 2023.
