A DRUG dealer was found in possession of more than £3,500 worth of cocaine after police found messages on his phone which referred to “purest Peruvian and Colombian”.

- PHILIP DEWEY

He had sent a number of text bombs to customers and registered one of his phones in his own name which led to his arrest.

Scott Maclure, 41, was discovered after police found messages from him on another person’s phone which appeared to be advertising the sale of cocaine. Work was then carried out to identify the sender of the messages.

A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court on Thursday heard four separate phones were used by the defendant to sell cocaine between June 13 and July 17. After one phone had been used to supply drugs it would be dropped and another one would be used.
