Man, woman assaulted, paraded with shoe garlands; 4 arrested

A 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old married woman have allegedly been physically assaulted, forced to wear footwear garlands and paraded on the streets of a village in Keonjhar district on the suspicion of having an extramarital relationship, police said Friday.
Keonjhar police have arrested four people, including the woman’s husband and two women in this connection, in Sadangi village under the Anandapur police station limits of this district.
‘The accused have been identified as Minati Ho, 35, Lambora Ho, 35, Mani Purty, 20, and Damodara Ho, 31, ali residents of Sadangi village. Police arrested them Thursday produced them in court after a video of the alleged assault and public humiliation went viral on social media.
