Modi says 'conspirators will not be spared'; Shah directs agencies to hunt down culprits

|Delhi 12 November 2025
A day after a powerful car blast near Delhi's Red Fort killed 12 people and injured 20 others, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep grief over the tragedy and vowed firm action against those responsible.
While Modi said from Bhutan that the “conspirators will not be spared” and pledged justice for the victims, Shah chaired back-to-back security review meetings in the Capital, directing agencies to hunt down every culprit and ordering a forensic investigation. President Murmu, speaking from Angola where she is on an official visit, called Shah to enquire about the situation and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families. The Ministry of Home Affairs has handed the probe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), indicating that the government views the explosion as a potential act of terror.
