A NURSERY worker accused of killing a baby girl told a trial she was 'distraught and heartbroken' after finding the child unresponsive.
Kate Roughley, 37, denies manslaughter by ill-treatment of nine-month-old Genevieve Meehan, who was found unconscious at the Tiny Toes Nursery in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport in 2022.
Prosecutors allege Ms Roughley, the deputy manager at the nursery, swaddled the infant in a blanket and put her to sleep on her front on a beanbag on May 9 that year.
