A MAN who died when a motorbike crashed into a lamppost in the early hours has been named as tributes to him flood in.

Biker with 'cheekiest smile' dies in crash

The smash that killed 27-year-old Joshua Corless happened on the A577 Orrell Road in the Orrell area of Wigan, near to the Raj Gate Indian restaurant, at around 4.25am on Thursday.

Police said they believe a motorbike was travelling east on the main road, towards Wigan town centre, when it 'crossed over to the offside carriageway! The bike then mounted a footpath before hitting a lamppost.

The rider became 'unseated; a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.
