Art of 'giving back'

THE PATRON of a new school says he wanted to ‘put something back’ into the community he came from.

Oldham’s Brian Clarke C of E Academy is named in honour of one of the town’s most famous sons.

Renowned international artist Sir Brian donated unique stained glass windows to the school, which is part of the Cramer Education Trust.

At the official opening night pupils entertained guests with a piano recital, poetry readings and a choral performance.

Headteacher Allison Ash spoke of how ‘privileged she feels to run this successful school’.
