MP requests right to appeal case over offensive email

A PENSIONER who sent a 'vile and abusive email' to Angela Rayner calling her an 'ugly menopausal pig' has been fined £700. It comes after the Ashton-under-Lyne MP was forced to appeal a decision not to prosecute the man.

The 'highly offensive' message was sent to 43-year-old Ms Rayner, the Labour deputy leader, by David Perry. In the email, the 66-year-old made crude and offensive references to Ms Rayner's appearance and accused her of being a 'puppet of the industrial military complex.

He also referenced a Mail on Sunday article which suggested Ms Rayner had crossed and uncrossed her legs to distract Boris Johnson during Prime Minister's Questions.
