Councils should take action

The weather we have experienced this year is just a foretaste of what we will face as our climate gets ever hotter.

Parts of the UK have just experienced the driest spring in 135 years and already, in mid-July, our third heat wave of the summer.

On top of regular and increasingly frequent autumn and winter storms bringing damaging and widespread flooding.

This is climate change happening in the here and now and the extremes of weather and climate are only going to get much worse.
