AT least 15 people have been killed after an "active shooter" opened fire at a primary school in the US.
Robb Elementary School was placed on lockdown at around 11.45 am after gunshots were heard in Uvalde, Texas.
Officials said 14 students and one teacher are dead and more than a dozen have been injured. Governor Greg Abbott said of the 18-year-old shooter: "He is deceased, and it is believed that responding officers killed him.
“It is believed that two responding officers were struck by rounds, but have no serious injuries.”
The gunman is reportedly high school student Salvador Ramos who allegedly shot a teacher and his grandmother.
