JAIPUR: Rajasthan reported the maximum stillbirth cases in India at the end of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022, revealed a latest report of the Central Registration System (CRS) published last week.

According to the data, Rajasthan had a total 24,560 stillbirth cases in 2022 followed by 11,794 in Gujarat, 10,493 in Madhya Pradesh, 9,915 in Maharashtra, and 8,293 in Assam.

The total number of stillbirths in the urban areas are also more than the rural areas.

At least 5,030 children were still-born in Rajasthan's rural areas in 2022.

The figure is about 19,530 in urban areas in the same year.

The number of female stillbirths is also more than the number of males.

At least 13,505 female children were born dead of which 2,764 in rural areas and 10,741 in urban areas.
