PM ups attack on Oppn, says they hurt Bihar’s sentiments

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday accused the Opposition in Bihar of ‘Chhathi Maiyya’, having “problems” with the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and “protecting infiltrators” to secure their vote banks as he mounted a scathing attack on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal.

At back-to-back rallies in ‘Muzaffarpur and Chhapra, Modi urged the people to repose their trust in the “Narendra-Nitish” combine, referring to chief minister Nitish Kumar, who is seeking his fifth consecutive term in the assembly polls nextmonth.

“Listen to Chhath songs while travelling. But while this son of yours is busy ensuring that Chhath gets the honour that is its due, the Congress-RID people are heaping scorn on the festival, calling it a drama, a nautanki,” he added, without mentioning any leader by name. Chhath, which was celebrated earlier this month, is the most popular festival of Bihar.
