A love story turned tragic when a security guard killed his beloved with an axe and then burnt her body for refusing to marry him in Rawalpindi near Islamabad, local media reported on Saturday.

After killing the woman with a hatchet, the man poured petrol on her body and set her on fire. The accused himself suffered from 90 per cent burns in the fire. He managed to survive and give a confessional statement to the police.
