AN UNKNOWN candidate who defeated President Joe Biden in American Samoa’s Super Tuesday caucus revealed he found out he had won when his “phone started blowing up.”
Baltimore-based entrepreneur Jason Palmer received 51 votes to Biden’s 40 to triumph in the US territory, a tiny collection of islands in the South Pacific.
The 52-year-old said he had never visited the territory before the caucus.
