The 49-year-old actress and Dundonian Brian, 76, have appeared in two films together and she talked about their friendship when she appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show.
The Hollywood star said he has a magical ability to phone her when she needs cheering up - and explained why he has pride of place on her mobile.
Kate said: "I love that man. He's lovely and I find it very comforting to see his face every 30 seconds when my phone relaxes and there he is.
