City boss expects more final-day Etihad twists

PEP GUARDIOLA has told his Manchester City players they must suffer if they are to win a historic fourth straight English title.

The champions, who must beat West Ham at the Etihad, trailed Aston Villa 2-0 with 14 minutes to go on the final day two years ago, before rallying with three late goals to snatch the title from Liverpool.

They also staged the most dramatic finish in Premier League history in 2012, when Sergio Aguero's 94th-minute winner clinched the title on goal difference from local rivals Manchester United.

City boss Guardiola said: "I want to put it in the minds of the players look how Tottenham fought for every ball when we played them. The aggression and commitment was incredible.

"So I don't have any doubts about that. I only care about the 11 players at West Ham. That happened with Aston Villa and I know what happened. It's going to happen the same.

"So we have to be ready to support from the first minute and be with us the whole way.

"You have to perform and be resilient in the bad moments, like what happened against Aston Villa or Spurs in our last game. This is my feeling.
