KMI panel admits Livi wronged by VAR call

THE SFA’s Key Match Incident panel has conceded Livingston's penalty claim against Rangers should have been awarded.

Defender Emmanuel Fernandez blocked a shot from Tete Yengi with his arm with the game level at Ibrox last Saturday.

Referee Ross Hardie was not sent to the pitchside monitor to review the incident by John Beaton in the VAR room.

The SFA clarified to Record Sport that the official guidance indicated that it was short proximity and Fernandez’s arm position was natural for his movement and, as a result, VAR declined to step in.
