EHCP has been a lifeline for me... without it I'd have no hope for future

A DISABLED student has delivered Keir Starmer an open letter signed by more than 10,000 people urging him not to scrap Education, Health and Care Plans.

Hannah Steadman, 19, who has chronic conditions including epilepsy and autism, visited No10 Downing Street in her wheelchair to give the Prime Minister the heartfelt letter.

In it she tells Mr Starmer that school became so challenging, she felt she could not continue until an EHCP changed her life two years ago.

Her letter was written amid fears that a government white paper this autumn detailing reforms to the special educational needs and disabilities system could scrap EHCPs.
