MORE than 50,000 people have been waiting longer than 10 weeks for their passport applications to be processed.
MPs yesterday heard how around 550,000 applications were being processed at the end of June.
Passport Office boss Thomas Greig admitted around 10% had waited more than 10 weeks.
The Home Affairs Select Committee heard how a sharp rise in applications as the UK came out of Covid restrictions was predicted last July.
