£85k scheme to add padel courts at leisure centre

November 14, 2025

THE world's fastest-growing sport is coming to Shobnall Leisure Complex - with work to begin on the installation of three padel courts.

The £85,000 investment is being joint-funded by centre operator Everyone Active and East Staffordshire Borough Council.

The padel courts will replace three of the six concrete tennis courts. Alongside the recent addition of two grass tennis courts, the facility will soon provide multiple forms of racquet sports on a variety of surfaces.

Work is set to get underway on Wednesday, November 19, and is expected to be completed in around three weeks.
