Premier Comb'n Daniel's double helps DRG to win over Hanham
Bristol Post
|September 25, 2025
RON Acton and DRG Frenchay are among a string of Bristol Premier Combination clubs celebrating safe passages to the second round of the Gloucestershire FA Senior Amateur Cup competition.
Daniel Kingston struck twice, and Joe Loney scored DRG's other goal, in a 3-1 away victory over a Hanham Athletic outfit finding life on the higher-level Gloucestershire County League stage an early strugle.
While delighted DRG advanced to an enticing home tie with Premier Division rivals Olveston United on Saturday, October 18, Tron Acton are looking forward to an away encounter with Division One side Old Sodbury next up on the same October afternoon, after goals for Alex Lambert and Elan Plummer proved enough to see off gritty Division One hopefuls Cribbs A 2-0.
In another Combination Premier Division-Division One tussle, Shirehampton Reserves put higher status and home advantage to good use as Dillan Kerr, Dan Spicer and Uchechukwu Umeakunne efforts ensured them a 3-0 victory over Pucklechurch Sports to tee up a second-round appointment, at Penpole Lane HQ once more, against Suburban Premier Division Phoenix NextGen.
There was more joy for early Combination Division One pacesetters Chipping Sodbury Town Reserves, who had Danny Seymour on the mark in a 1-1 Ridings stalemate with topflight Totterdown United before prevailing 5-3 on penalties to set up next an away encounter with AFC Mangotsfield.
