Rivals bury hatchet after 20 years

Jatuporn Prompan, a former red-shirt core leader who was once an ally of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, yesterday embraced his political arch-rival, Sondhi Limthongkul, a former yellow-shirt leader, as the two announced the formation of a political alliance against Thaksin.

The emotional moment took place yesterday during the forum "The Truth Is One - Episode 2/2025" at the Sriburapha Auditorium, Thammasat University's Tha Prachan campus.

Mr Sondhi later in the day posted a message on Facebook confirming the newly-forged alliance.

Mr Jatuporn and Mr Sondhi were adversaries during intense political times in the late 2000s.

Mr Jatuporn was leader of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, which lent staunch support to Thaksin and the Pheu Thai Party.
