Town beaten on penalties after full-time deadlock in Jersey

IT was penalty heartbreak for Fleet Town as they missed out on a place in the Combined Counties League Premier South play-off final.

Fleet had drawn 1-1 with Jersey Bulls on their trip to the Channel Islands on Saturday - but it was the home team who progressed to the final, winning 3-0 on penalties.

Fleet Town had the better start to the game, with good build-up play from Billy Oram, Leo Decabo, Tom Smith, and Nick Medcraft, which produced chances for Chike Kandi and Tane Caubo which were unfortunately all saved or blocked.

With both sides not having had any competitive action for four weeks, there was an element of rustiness in the play. Jersey in particular were looking off their game.
