Go West!

For former U.S. ambassador Trevor Traina, a house in Jackson Hole becomes a labor of love, filled with the American art and antiques he has been collecting all his life. All he had to do to get the perfect view of the Grand Tetons was lift the house and turn it 45 degrees.

ARCHITECTURE OF TIME

Everyone loves a good comeback. With the 2025 Privé Tank à Guichets, Cartier has resurrected one of its archives' most eccentric pieces. The Guichets (French for “ticket window”) is the classic Tank reduced to almost elemental form. Released in 1928 at the height of the Art Deco era and famously worn by Duke Ellington, the timepiece has no dial and no hands—just two tiny apertures displaying hours and minutes. Nearly a century later its bold minimalism still feels like a challenge to watchmaking writ large.

ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

We have a new column on our site called \"Elle Decor Checks In.\" (Have you read the one about the Villa d’Este? Brittany? Venice?) What inspired it: our long history of chronicling how the design of a hotel lobby or room or restaurant impacts your entire trip, and the fact that every time we've met with hoteliers lately, the first thing they bring up is who designed the place.
