Such an honor to have you on Muscle & Fitness Hers, everyone has their own special story about how they got involved in health and fitness. Could you tell us a little bit about your journey to where you are today?
I am honored to be featured in Muscle and Fitness Hers. It has always been a dream of mine. I have always been very athletic. When I was 11 years old I tore my first ACL tendon in my right knee during a world championship cheer and dance competition. After a long 7-month recovery, I finally returned to full activity and re-tore the same ACL tendon in the same year. This set back my physical and mental ability tremendously. I had nothing but more ACL and meniscus tears later down the road totaling 3 ACL tears and 5 meniscus tears. I had to leave my competitive cheer and dance life behind and rebuild my strength through physical therapy and gym sessions. I slowly but surely regained my physical and mental strength. Now I am stronger than ever. Rebuilding my muscle structure and body image has been such a struggle but I am so proud to say I have never felt so healthy and fit.
What is your typical workout routine?
My typical workout routine consists of strength training and aerialist dance for cardio. I lift weights 4-6 days a week focusing on circuit training exercises which allows me to train 2-3 muscle groups per workout. I train aerial dance 3-4 days a week which focuses on abdominal and upper body strength.
