A collective gasp. Then a flurry of applause. Carla Bruni has just stepped onto the runway in a black shift dress, and sparkling from her neck, the Bulgari Tribute to Paris necklace; a magnificent jewel bearing a repeated Eiffel Tower motif encrusted with 461 emeralds totalling 26.63 carats, framed by 317 diamonds totalling 28.87 carats, and at the heart, a 35.53-carat emerald in Bulgari’s signature cabochon cut.

We’re inside the Italian Embassy located on Paris’s left bank, and the City of Lights is shining extra bright tonight as Anne Hathaway and fellow Bulgari ambassadors Priyanka Chopra and Lalisa Manobal grace the front row for the official unveiling of the Bulgari Eden: Gardens of Wonders high jewellery collection.

Earlier that day, seated at the brand’s Place Vendôme flagship that was transformed into a verdant indoor garden, Bulgari’s chief of jewellery, Mauro di Roberto, speaks to Vogue about iconic jewels, the ethos of the brand and why Bulgari trades in joy.

The Bulgari Eden: Garden of Wonders collection consists of 140 pieces, of which 30 feature emeralds; an iconic stone for the house. Which pieces stand out for you in this diverse collection?
