"This Spring/Summer 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection is an ode to liberty and to movement, and tells a story that has its origins in the garden of the Villa Noailles," Virginie Viard stated in the show notes.
Chanel is a luxury fashion powerhouse known for continually leaning into its House codes which are reinvented each season. This time around, Viard found inspirational cues from the sun-drenched gardens of the estate Noailles conceived by the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens in 1923 for Chanel's Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld both visited the minimalist 40-bedroom villa, perched on the slopes of Hyères, with its huge swimming pool, sunken flower beds and terraced gardens.
