Our Elise's exhaust goes from rust to roar with a complete new aftermarket system

DURING THE ELISE'S RECENT SERVICE AT Analogue Automotive some corrosion was spotted on the exhaust downpipe where it connects to the flexi section, to the point where bits were flaking off and it probably wouldn't be attached to the car for much longer. OE-spec replacements are readily available, but I decided to go a bit further than that.

It seemed the perfect opportunity to unlock some extra performance and a sweeter noise from the K-series motor, so after falling down a bit of a rabbit hole I settled on a complete new system from Janspeed. That means a stainlesssteel 4-2-1 manifold, link pipe, sports cat and back box. The combined cost of the parts was £2426, with fitting another £350, but they've livened up the car no end.
