THE £100,000 Betfair Imperial Cup whetted the appetite of racing fans ahead of this week's Cheltenham Festival, with a pulsating contest between Go Dante and Faivoir, who are trained just a few miles apart.
The traditional starter course to an epic week of sport served up a thrillingly tight finish and in the bob of heads, it was the Olly Murphy-trained Go Dante who was declared the winner by a nose, under a driving finish from titlechasing jockey Sean Bowen up the Sandown incline.
