PRODUCER SIMON REYNOLDS
"I FIRST met 'Teddy' on the way home from the bar, slightly inebriated, at the British Show Horse Association [BSHA] National Championships in 2017. I'd been celebrating a win on Harriet Richardson's maxi cob Colourprint and she was excited to show us a three-year-old cob she'd bought from Reid Finlay as a two-year-old.
"It was 11.30pm and there were no lights in the stables. Harriet shone her phone torch onto a slightly camera-shy Teddy. He shot to the back of the stable.
"He's nice isn't he, Simon?' Harriet said. I burst out laughing and said, 'Well, it's a long road from here, let's see!' To be quite truthful, I couldn't see a thing!
"The next day, he won the in-hand cob class and from then he had my attention. He was backed by Harriet, helped by Emily Steane, then joined me in January 2018.
