PYRAMID OF KHUFU
The Pyramid of Khufu is one among the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World which is called by several names including The Great Pyramid of Giza and Pyramid of Cheops. The Pyramid of Khufu got its name after the Egyptian Pharaoh of the fourth dynasty, Khufu. It is said that it is the final resting place of the Pharaoh.
According to archaeologists and historians, The Pyramid of Khufu was built in 2560 BC and the entire construction took around 10 to 20 years for its completion. The pyramid comprises more than two million blocks whose primary compositions are granite, limestone and mortar.
The pyramid contains approximately 2,300,000 blocks, some of which are over 50 tons. The level of precision associated with its design and accomplishment set The Great Pyramid apart from others of its kind. The tura limestone blocks at the exterior, which have long since been removed, were laid with striking perfection rendering the pyramid a smooth and reflective look.
