With summer drawing to a close and the autumn swells just around the corner it’s time to look back at a great summer of weather and waves in Wales.
The swells have been pretty consistent for the time of year. Normally our high pressures, warm weather and long flat spells leave people booking wave pools or looking abroad on the search but that needn’t have been the case this summer.
During the heatwave in July we had an unbelievable run of swell which for the time of year was highly unusual. It was pumping. Many of the locals like Si Page, The Gill and Gower Tube Hunter/top vlogger Callum Thomas to name a few were wearing boardies for their sessions throughout the summer. The high water temperatures, blazing sunshine and consistent sessions meant you could’ve been anywhere.
