S'pore Airshow set to go ahead next Feb, but likely without public days

The Singapore Airshow will go ahead in February next year, but likely in a shortened format without days open to members of the public.

The biennial event is expected to start as planned on Feb 15 at the Changi Exhibition Centre next year, sources told The Straits Times.

But it is set to end earlier on Feb 18, instead of Feb 20, due to the cancellation of the planned public days. In past editions, people would go to the airshow over the weekend to view aerial performances from air forces and look at aircraft on display up close.

Several precautions to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission will be in place.

For example, foreign participants have to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Pre-event testing and capacity limits will be implemented as well.
