The State Government on Monday announced an increase in reservation for women in recruitment in the Police Department from 20% to 25% in the Assembly on Monday.
“My government has approved reservation for women in 25% posts in the police recruitment,” said Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala, while addressing the joint session of the state legislature that started from Monday.
According to a senior cop, currently the State government provides 20% reservation for women in recruitment for constables and sub-inspectors and it will now be increased to 25% in all recruitments, civil and reserve police.
