However, schools will also have to continue online classes for the students who are not willing to attend physical classes, said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio.
The decision to reopen schools was taken by a panel of experts and members of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in a meeting held on Wednesday.
The DDMA has also given permission to reopen all other educational institutions, including Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and other colleges, in a staggered manner.
“All the schools will make sure that the classes are held in ‘blended hybrid mode’ with both online and offline classes,” Sisodia said, adding that the schools should also ensure that all of their teaching and non-teachings staff are fully vaccinated with both doses.
