The popular and friendly female seal had been taken away from her home near Plymouth.
Spearmint is currently resting at RSPCA centre in Somerset after concerns were raised for her welfare. The aim was to then relocate her to somewhere less populated, but there are growing concerns she will never make it.
It is understood that she is showing signs of stress in captivity and not eating, as well as battling an ear infection. While no decisions have been made, euthanasia is one of the options the RSPCA has on the table for poor Spearmint.
