BRITTANY Ferries has taken delivery of its huge new gas-driven super ferry Salamanca with it due to arrive in the UK in early 2022.
The company, which has its UK headquarters in Plymouth, sent senior executives including chief executive Christophe Mathieu to attend a hand-over ceremony in Sweden at the head office of construction partners Stena RoRo.
Delivery refers to the transfer of ownership from shipbuilder to end-user, rather than a voyage. So Salamanca will leave China in December 2021 for a two-month voyage to the UK.
