The records, released after 100 years locked in the vaults, offer an unprecedented snapshot of life in the country, capturing the personal details of 38 million people on June 19, 1921.
Plymouth Sutton MP Nancy Astor, the first woman to take a seat in Parliament, was one of 25 people at her home on the evening of the census.
