A BETTING firm has put an application to set up shop in a premises in Plymouth's West End - right next to where a new health and wellbeing hub is planned.
Paddy Power, a chain of licensed betting shops, has submitted a licensing application for a betting premises licence at 97 New George Street - previously operated by Betfred. Its suggested opening hours are Monday to Sunday, from 7am to 10pm.
The betting shop would be in the vicinity of where Plymouth City Council and the NHS have joined forces to develop plans for a new, purpose-built £25 million health and wellbeing centre in the West End of the city, in the vicinity of Colin Campbell Court.
