Kevin Davidson, 50, has painted five murals, which are being installed in the alcoves of a building at the Cumberland Centre and will be unveiled to the public on Monday.
Mr Davidson was approached by the founder of art collective Plymouth Artists Together, Mike Vosper, to see whether he would be interested in painting the murals, depicting ethnicity and diversity, on the walls of the NHS building.
Mr Davidson, who works for Livewell, has previously worked at the Cumberland Centre, so he was happy to create something bright for the NHS.
Each mural has been spraypainted with bright colours and is eight feet by four feet in size.
Mr Davidson told The Herald: “The Cumberland Centre was being hit with graffiti tags, and if there is nothing there, it encourages them to come back and do more. The ethos of Plymouth Artists Together is about getting around and brightening up rundown areas or heavily graffititagged areas – we want to help prevent that.
