A total of 42 percent of healthcare workers (HCW), frontline workers (FLW) and senior citizens across Maharashtra have received precautionary (booster) doses in the last seven days.
According to the CoWin portal, until 6 pm on Monday, 3,77,232 beneficiaries received precautionary doses from January 10-17. There are around nine lakh senior citizens, healthcare and frontline workers eligible for these doses in Maharashtra.
Officials said the number of beneficiaries taking precautionary doses could have been more as a large number of senior citizens contracted Covid in the third wave. Many HCWS and FLWs have taken precautionary doses unofficially, too.
